How to use riteMail
- You can use riteMail as a notepad to create and store handwritten notes and
sketches on your Pocket PC, Palm handheld, desktop PC, laptop PC, or Tablet PC.
(You can use inexpensive pen tablets to write
and respond to riteMail messages from your desktop or laptop computer.)
- You can exchange riteMail messages with your co-workers, friends, and others using
either wireless or wireline connectivity, provided you have the following: o
connection to the Interneto for desktop/laptop or Tablet PC users, a
Java-enabled browser o regular email account o riteMail registration.
- To instantly create a new riteMail message from your desktop browser, click
the
button

link in the left navigation bar anywhere on this site. This will launch riteMail
Web Edition (based on Java technology). You can instantly write on the riteMail
pad. You will be asked to fill out a short registration form when sending your
first message.

- To reply to a riteMail message that someone has sent you, simply click the Write
back button on the message and start writing on the riteMail pad when the reply
letter pops up. If you have not yet registered, you will be asked to register
when sending your first response.
- It is a good idea to put a riteMail shortcut on your desktop. Go to
the New Message page www.ritemail.net/rm/newmsg.asp
and select File->Send->Shortcut to Desktop in your browser. The riteMail
icon will appear on your desktop and will start a new riteMail message
every time you click on it.
- To view and write handwritten emails on a Pocket PC, on a Palm handheld or
on a Tablet PC, click

Platforms and wireless delivery
riteMail Web Edition utilizes Java technology for
Windows, Macintosh, Unix, Linux, and other desktops and pen computers. It can work with any
Java-enabled Web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, Opera,
and other browsers.
riteMail also
works on Pocket PC, Palm Handhelds, and has a separate Windows
application.
riteMail allows seamless delivery of handwritten messages for popular
email clients, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Lotus Notes, Netscape Mail, as well
as Web-based email systems like AOL Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and
others*.
Users of mobile versions of riteMail on Pocket PC, Palm Handhelds,
Windows laptops and other pen computers can receive handwritten message over
POP3 and IMAP4 protocols from any SMTP server. riteMail supports
direct wireless sending of handwritten messages over HTTP and SMTP protocols.

AOL Mail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail and other popular Web-based email systems, Java
applets in emails are often prohibited. In this case, riteMail messages
will arrive as embedded images. Clicking on the "Write
back"
or on the accompanying
text link opens the handwritten

instantly respond in your own handwriting.
