riteMail Registration
You
receive handwritten messages to your Palm Handheld from one or more
of your corporate or personal mailboxes. You can download them on your
Palm handheld either via Internet connection from your POP3 or IMAP server
or by synchronizing your default desktop mail client with your Palm device
using HotSync. Handwritten messages from your Palm
Handheld can be sent via riteMail service and can also be sent through other
mail systems. By communicating via riteMail service, you ensure
that recipients are able to receive, view and respond to your letters
on any connected and Java-enabled desktop computer without installing riteMail software. If
you send handwritten messages through other mail systems, without using riteMail
service, recipients of
your handwritten messages will
need to install riteMail software on their desktops to view and respond to them.
Sending
handwritten messages via riteMail service
riteMail
service delivers your handwritten letters to recipients, temporarily keeps copies of
the letters on its secure servers, and renders them on desktops using
Java-based riteMail client software, which is automatically
downloaded to connected desktops. Handwritten letters will appear in the
body of emails in Java-enabled email clients, and recipients can instantly
respond to your letters in their own handwriting.
In
order to use riteMail service, you must be
registered prior to sending your first handwritten letter. You also have to complete the
User identity form on your Palm Handheld, located in the Options
menu. If
you do not have riteMail registration, we recommend you to
register on the riteMail site during the installation and prior
to completing the
User identity form. You may already have the riteMail registration if you used riteMail
Web Edition or if you
downloaded riteMail for Palm Handhelds or riteMail for
Pocket PC from the riteMail Web site or from partner sites in
the past.
[more on riteMail registration]

- If
you already have riteMail registration, please make sure that
the Email Address on your Palm Handheld you enter when filling
out your User identity form is one of your registered emails
in your personal profile, kept with your riteMail account.
Note.
To add email addresses to your riteMail profile, use "Update
my profile" link on the riteMail site

(for
this User identity form to be valid,
your Primary Email during your online riteMail registration should be smith@work.com)
-
If you start using riteMail without registration, or if you enter a
non-registered Email Address in the User identity form, then, upon sending your first riteMail message, you will receive an email directing you to the
riteMail Web site to complete your registration. This email
will arrive to the email address you have entered in your User identity form. In this case, you will have to re-send your first
handwritten message, which you can locate in the Sent folder (see
riteMail Message Folders)
Sending
handwritten messages through other mail systems
To
send handwritten letters without using riteMail service, you have
to properly set up and configure riteMail's Delivery
settings,
as explained below.
