New
features in riteMail 2.0
riteMail
2.0 introduces major new features of its mobile and desktop software, as
well as in the riteMail service. It also pioneers a new approach that
combines electronic ink capturing on mobile devices with deferred
processing and recognition of notes on desktops.
Key
new features of version 2.0 of riteMail for Palm Handhelds include:
- Support
for Palm OS 5: riteMail 2.0 takes advantage of the increased
operation speed of Palm OS5, including an even faster rendering of
Pen&Internet's riteInk™ electronic ink. The Windows installer
for riteMail 2.0 prompts for a choice of the version of Palm OS:
3.5-4.X or 5.X.
- Faster
file access: Optimization of message viewing by caching allows one
to instantly reopen message files, including lengthy notes and
drawings.
- Memory
card storage: This version of riteMail supports storage of
messages on SD cards, memory sticks and compact flash cards.
- Multiple-message
operations: Provides ability to move or delete several messages at
once.
- Taller
screen views: Support for larger screens, such as those available
on the Sony Clie with "collapsible" Graffiti area.
- New
gestures and shortcuts: Provides new stylus gestures and
shortcuts, such as /N for opening a file.
- Larger
color palette: Offers increased color palette with 16-bit color
support for hi-res devices.
