Installing and Starting riteMail

You can install riteMail by copying its .cab file directly to your Pocket PC from your PC, from the local network or from the Internet.

If you have the full riteMail Windows installation package, install riteMail from your desktop or laptop PC as follows:

  1. Connect your Pocket PC to your PC.
  2. Set up a partnership between your Pocket PC and your regular PC if you have not done so already.
  3. On your regular PC, double-click the riteMail Setup icon to launch the riteMail Setup application.  Follow the prompts.  During the install process, you will be asked to select your desired installation type. Your options are:

• Typical: This option installs the riteMail application, a tutorial, and some sample files on your PC.  This is the option we suggest for most users.
• Compact: This option installs just the riteMail application.  This option is good if you need to conserve disk space.
• Custom: Choose the riteMail components you wish to install.  Note that you must install the program files for riteMail to function.

Reinstalling riteMail

If you have already installed riteMail before and run the installation program again, the following window appears:

• Reinstall/Upgrade: Select this if you are upgrading riteMail or if you need to repair a corrupt installation.
• Modify: Select the Modify option if you wish to add or remove riteMail components.
• Uninstall: This will uninstall riteMail from your Desktop.
  Note: to uninstall riteMail from the mobile device, please use Settings->System->Remove Programs.

Once you have made your selection, proceed with the rest of the installation or uninstallation, following the on-screen prompts.
